Sporting goods retail giant Sports Authority officially opened its newest location at The Outlets at Orange at 20 City Blvd West, Orange on May 12. The 30,000 sq. foot Sports Authority store features a new format with what the company described as simplified layouts, brighter lighting and bold colors.

Stores such as Sports Authority are increasing number of discount-oriented stores at The Outlets at Orange since the mall was renamed and rebranded. The mall has added more than half a dozen new stores since the fall, most of them off-price, outlet or factory stores such as Nordstrom Rack, Banana Republic Factory Store and O’Neill Outlet.

A local Los Angeles shop owner says, “Business is better than normal, With three teams, the Kings, Clippers and Lakers, we’re in business.”
